Understanding User Preferences

Your user account page can be confusing. The HCL Software Developer Community (built on Discourse) is a very rich platform with lots of configurability. So let’s help you through it.

There are a variety of tabs:

  • Summary gives a variety of statistics about your HCL Software Developer Community journey so far.
  • Activity gives more direct access to posts or replies you’ve made.
  • Notifications provides a full-page filterable set of notifications you have received.
  • Message provides access to in-app messages (not chat messages) you have received.
  • Invites gives access to invites.
  • Badges shows all the badges you’ve earned. These might be automatically granted (e.g. First Mention) or manually granted (e.g. HCL Ambassador for a specific year).
  • Preferences allows you to configure you preferred settings.
