Please help me understand the ‘Out Of Office’ function.. The configuration settings are set to Out-of-Office type: Service.
If the user enables the ‘Out Of Office’ function starting Today, there is no flag for this user in Domino Administrator.
If the user enables ‘Out Of Office’ starting on another date, a flag appears in Domino Administrator, but it does not disappear afterwards. Even if the function is disabled
There may be other problems with this function, but these are the ones that are already causing questions. What could be the problem? How can I fix it?
I have checked and the Admin Client shows the OOO status. But you need to restart the Admin client after enabling or disabling OOO.
Hence restart Admin Client and check.
Thank you for your help and instructions. Unfortunately, this does not help either. The question remains as to why the Out of Office flag remains enabled in Domino Administrator, even though we have disabled the feature in the user’s mailbox.
Is this not an error? As far as we can see, this is not correct behaviour.
This can only happen with one of below reasons. 1. when user disabled the OOO from Local replica and this is not replicated back to server.
2. Corrupted OOO profile. You can remove it using LotusScript agent.
We are sorry to hear the suggestion didn’t helped.
I will suggest you to raise a case with HCL support team for further investigation of the issue. Our concern team will perform detailed investigation of the issue.
Hello,
Have you tested by sending a test mail to this user?
I can reproduce the scenario that you mentioned. I can resolve this by following the workaround by sending a test mail to the user who has OOO enabled and then disabled. After sending the mail, the OOO status is removed in the Admin client.
The router only processes the out of office service when a message is received. The service will be turned off/disabled when the next message is received in the user’s mailfile. This is also true if the service is disabled automatically when the user’s designated out of office time has expired. If the user receives no emails after the out of office time period has expired or after user manually disables the out of office service then the service is disabled during routine router maintenance (4AM)
Thank you for responding to the problem.
We have checked this with replicas on the server, and this problem occurs not only for one user.
We are not sure if this is related to the corruption ООО profile.
Thank you for helping with this problem.
Yes, we sent test emails. The sender does not receive notifications after disabled the OOO, but the flag on OOO remains in Domino Administrator.
So now we need to wait for scheduled router maintenance?
Hello Chu, No. In my test, after sending the mail, the status is changed in the admin client[of course, you need to refresh the admin client or close\start]. Ideally, it should work this way. Since this is not working in your environment, I would suggest opening a case, so, the support can investigate this further.
