My name is Ben Ness. I am a Technical Recruiter with a firm called AdvantageTech (located in the DC metro area). I am in need of at least six Lotus Note Developers with Top Secret Full Lifestyle polygraphs clearances. I can’t go into specific details of the opportunity other than it involves Lotus Notes Developement. If you are interested, please contact me as soon as possible. I can be reached at my office
703-871-5133 or on my mobile at any time
202-669-2435. Your other option is to email me at ben@advantagetech.net. Rates on this project are open so, within reason, and based on experience, you can name your price. I look forward to discussing this opportunity with you further.
I gather from friends who tell me things I’d be happier not knowing that “lifestyle” is, in some circles, a euphemism for polyamory. If that’s the case, I really don’t want to know what this project is about.

TS … EEEEEK!! Been there, done that. Would be hard-pressed to take high six figures for it again. Would take well into seven figures to do TS and move to back to the D.C. area. Urk!- File Save and Ben L. What’s up? Long see no post, that I’ve noticed.
Before you ask, my clearance has well lapsed. (grin) Good luck, Mr. Ness!..

Nobody in their right mind would ever give me a top secret clearance. My roommate in college went for a job in the NSA and begged me not to say anything that would lose him his opportunity. I swore I wouldn’t tell anyone about our communist cell, no matter what. LOL.
Have you put this on Dice. If so, you’re going to reach the vast vast majority of potential candidates. I would really hate to see this technical forum get junked up with all this contract-recruiting stuff, and I see more all the time.
And all you developers thinking , what is this guys problem, consider how its going to be when a large number of recruiter start putting stuff here. Its just not necessary or helpful.
Well, its hard to argue against a figure of your stature in the Notes community. But are there really not enough people here ? Would it really improve the content of the forum to have that kind of messages here ? No way, man.
remember that there is an “employment” category choice in the R5 Forum. Personally, I think it does the recruiters more harm than good posting in here because even if they are specific with instructions and requirements, they may still get totally unqualified responses.
Take a look around, Steven. There are about a dozen people, total, answering about 90% of the questions asked in here and the R4 & R5 forum. Do we need more people? Yes, and not newbies who can only ask.
ok, well , if we accept your argument that there are only a few people answering, and we need not the newbies who can only ask -
The people interested in the contract jobs postings are NOT your experts. Ben L. Is he interested in contract position postings? No. Who would be interested ? Newbies. The unemployed. Its harsh, but those are not your top level developers, who arent working. Sounds mean and nasty, but its the truth.
You say look around, Steven - I say, think it through, Stan.
By the way, I did not mean by my response that lots of good people would come here if there were more job postings, although I admit it sounds like that. I meant more that I have known a lot of good Notes/Domino developers struggling in recent years who might be able to stay in this area and not move to .NET or other areas of development if they could find jobs. I’ll certainly admit that there are more effective ways than posting here.
You are so wrong. I know a large number of top-notch developers who have/had been unemployed for a very long stretch of time when IBM/Lotus got out of core consulting. THAT is the reality. and they are looking for leads in any and all sources of information, including here.
