EasySync Pro 4.2.4 conduit not installed

After Installing EasySync Pro for first time the EasySync conduit does not appear on the HotSync Custom menu. The original Palm Desktop conduits are still installed and working.

I followed the deinstall everything and reinstall instructions and still no luck.

I also tried installing EasySync Pro 4.2.3 and got the same result.

My environment is:

Palm Desktop 4.1.4

HotSync 6.0.1

Lotus Notes 7.0

Treo 650 - OS 5.4.8

Windows XP Pro

Thanks,

AJ

Subject: EasySync Pro 4.2.4 conduit not installed

There has been a lot of conversation here about support for Notes 7, but EasySync Pro 4.2.4 is supposed to support ND7, as well as Windows Mobile 5.

Info here:

http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=899&uid=swg21245408

If it’s not installing the conduits correctly, you might want to contact support …

Subject: RE: EasySync Pro 4.2.4 conduit not installed

I was able to get it to work by comparing the registry entries from a PC where it was working and a PC where it was not working.

Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop\ there are multiple Application folders starting with Application0. I located the Application folder where Creator=0x50416464 (I believe this is the Contacts conduit). I modified the Conduit entry to “C:\Program Files\Common Files\XCPCSync.OEM\Lotus.211.101\Translators\PalmOS\rsCondut.dll” (without quotes).

I then set the Conduit entry to null in the Calendar, Tasks, and Memo Pad Application folders.

After that I stoped and restarted my HotSync manager and then started EasySync and pressed the syncronize button. Now everything seems to be working and the EasySync conduit appears in the HotSync custom list.

Not sure why the installation failed to properly register the EasySync conduit.

Subject: RE: EasySync Pro 4.2.4 conduit not installed

I have LN 6.5.1, with EasySyncPRo 4.2.4 with Palm T3, and there isn’t the conduit in the hotsync!!!

I don’t know if it’s normal, but it’s not pratical to launch the sync manually!!!

Subject: RE: EasySync Pro 4.2.4 conduit not installed

If there is no conduit then is EasySync working?

Not sure why it is not practical to launch sync manually. I always launch my sync by pressing my hotsync button manually.

Subject: RE: EasySync Pro 4.2.4 conduit not installed

I am having the same issue, but unfortunately copying and pasting your pathname in the conduit value field resulted in a “conflict” instead (I also nulled the others you indicated). I’m an IBM employee who downloaded 4.2.4 from ISSI and no matter how many times I reinstall, etc. I hit the “unable to find hotsync” error.

Subject: RE: EasySync Pro 4.2.4 conduit not installed

I copied your registry and used it to replace the associated registry entries I had in the \Pilot Desktop\Applications. But still no joy. Thank you for taking the time to help with this.

Unfortunately, this did not fix my “unable to find hotsync” issue.

Subject: RE: EasySync Pro 4.2.4 conduit not installed

I believe I have the same issue. New ThinkPad, Notes 7.0, Hotsync 4.1.0 EasySyncPro 4.2.4, Treo 600, Palm 5.2.

Installed HotSync, installed EasySync via ISSI. HotSync works fine. EasySync, when I click Synchronize says HotSync can not be found. Have tried “Force Full Synchronize”, no luck.

Only have Application1 and Application2 in the registry.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\XCPCSync.OEM\Lotus.211.101\Translators\PalmOS\rsCondut.dll version 4.24.6868.0

Assume it’s in the correct place.

I don’t see how to tell HotSync to use EasySync, and EasySync can not find HotSync.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!!

Subject: RE: EasySync Pro 4.2.4 conduit not installed

I see you downloaded EasySync 4.2.4 from ISSI. ISSI is NOT working for this install, however what you can do is select “deferred install”. This will download the files you need into your “sdwork” directory. Then double click on the file named, “IBM Lotus EasySync Pro.msi” and it should install properly. You may have to point it to your Notes.ini file, but other than that, it should work automatically.

Subject: RE: EasySync Pro 4.2.4 conduit not installed

Perhaps your rsConduit.dll is in another folder. Could you verfy the location of rsConduit.dll?

Also, I had to perform my first syncronize operation by opening the EasySync application and pressing the Syncronize button. Then going to the treo and pressing the hotsync button.

AJ

Subject: RE: EasySync Pro 4.2.4 conduit not installed

yes, I verified the location of my rscondut.dll file, it was the same as yours. However, what version do you have? Mine is 4.24.6868.0. I also hit the synchronize button within EasySync, but no success.

I also have another directory in the common files called LtNts4, do you have this directory too?

I have a similar environment to you but unlike you, I had been happily using EasySync 4.2.3 with Lotus Notes, the only downside was having to use mail.prc instead of versamail to view notes but everything synced fine. I’d happily go back but I downloaded 4.2.4 from ISSI and it overwrote everything.

Subject: RE: EasySync Pro 4.2.4 conduit not installed

I also have the 4.24.6868.0 version of rsconduit.dll.

I also have the LtNts4 folder.

I was running 4.2.3 on my old laptop and only received problems when migrating to my new laptop and installing 4.2.4 (also from ISSI).

Have you followed the technote to fully uninstall easysync and Palm Desktop then reinstall?

http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?fdoc=wplceasy&rs=465&uid=swg21152886

I had followed those instructions before hacking the registry.

thanks for this info, I think it gets me closer… but… see my other post.

Subject: EasySync Pro 4.2.4 conduit not installed

Hi Guys I too had the same problem that everybody else here seemed to be having, getting the condmgr.dll not found message in the debug logs, and a hotsync not found message, and no conduit under hotsync->config.

After installing, uninstalling many times, I eventually did this and it worked for me:

  1. uninstall palm desktop

  2. uninstall easysync software

  3. go into regedit and export out branch “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics” (as a backup) then delete the branch “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics” in regedit.

  4. install palm desktop

  5. install easysync software

  6. perform full synchronisation

and it works !!

well it worked for me.

Subject: RE: EasySync Pro 4.2.4 conduit not installed

Mike, I deleted that branch several times myself and still had issues. For me the issue is that the install from ISSI directly does not work. Choosing deferred install and running “IBM Lotus EasySync Pro.msi” directly from the sdwork directory worked perfectly for me and did not require any registry hacking. In my registry hacking, I had two back out and use system restore a couple of times, so I’m hoping if others got to this point from trying to install from ISSI, they try my method first before going into regedit.

Subject: RE: EasySync Pro 4.2.4 conduit not installed

Doing a deferred install (from ISSI) solved the problem for me; thanks!

Subject: RE: EasySync Pro 4.2.4 conduit not installed

Installing from the IBM Lotus EasySync Pro.msi in /sdwork did the trick. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Subject: RE: EasySync Pro 4.2.4 conduit not installed

Me too. Thanks for Eric’s suggestion (29Oct2006) and the other posts. Thanks.

I added that to the path, still fails.
