ZScaler Cloud proxy and Notes Client Issues

We recently had ZScaler implemented at our site and I now find that external messages cannot load images. I'm being told that we no longer have a single proxy address and need to use a PAC file. Anyone else had this issue or know how to get Notes working with a PAC file ?

Cheers, Alan

Hi

Thanks for posting the question in the forum.

Kindly provide us below details.

1. What is the Notes client version currently you are using

2. As per the technote we found that The Notes Client does not support the use of a Proxy Auto Configuration. A user's location document does not contain a proxy auto-configuration field. This issue has been reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# GMAA5J8C5Y, as an enhancement request.

To find the setting in Internet Explorer:

1. In Internet Explorer, from the Tools menu, choose Internet Options.
2. On the Connections tab, click the LAN Settings button.
3. The option Use automatic configuration script is located on the LAN Settings window.

Thanks for the response, however the link fails, HCL support only ?

Sorry forgot to add. Notes 9.0.1 FP7 on Windows 7.

Hi

Thanks for the update.

Can you kindly once again check the link

Thanks, link now works, although further links in comments don't.

Ignore last point ( confused with another email thread ) , have read the update in link , but is there any statement on when this might be fixed ?

Hello Alan,

Testing has showed that starting with the Notes 8.5.x client, the PAC file designated in the OS browser will be used by the Notes
client as long as the following conditions are met:

1. Ensure the location document proxy configuration field is blank;

2. The Notes 8.5.x client is using the OS system browser.

When the above conditions are true, the PAC file configured in the OS browser will be passed to the Notes client.

Let us know if that helps.

Sadly this didnt make any difference.

Still getting unable to connect to host messages when trying to display the email in Notes

iNotes renders correctly in IE 11 ( default browser )

Also have "Disable embedded browser for MIME email" in settings.
