Zebra printer problem. Anybody using Zebra? <addendum 3>

Tossing this out in the hopes someone can help.

We have an app where we will print to a Zebra label printer. In 4.6 it works fine.

In 6.5, we’re having all kinds of problems. The latest and greatest is the following:

Use prints a doc to the label printer. The system generates an immediate error:

'Could not complete operation"

When the user shuts down Notes, a second error is generated:

Title = ‘Exit Notes Warning’

Message = Exiting this application will terminate print tasks still in progress. It is recommended that you wait until printing is complete before exiting the application. Proceed with shutting down this application?

Is anybody printing to Zebra printers? Any tips? Any problems?

ps - forgot to mention that other apps can print fine to these printers all the time. It’s just in Notes 6.5 where we seem to be having problem.

Addenda 2:

XP SP2 + 6.5 + Zebra = bad

XP SP1 + 6.5 + Zebra = good

Addenda 3

XP SP2 + 6.5 + Zebra = good

May not be an SP2 thing. We’re looking at the print server now.

Can Notes 6.5.4 print to other printers (not the Zebra) OK?

Otherwised, I’d give IBM Support a call and see if there’s any issues with printing from Notes 6.5.x under XP SP2. SP2 certainly introduced some issues for Sametime meetings because of the pop-up blocker, so other security fixes in that patch may be the root of this as well.

Sorry 'bout the delay - been off for a week and just getting through the pile on my desk.

Yes, we can print to pretty much any other printer.

It’s looking like some wierd combination of printer driver and 6.5 interactions. We think we’ve found a driver for the Zebra that works with both 4.6 and 6.5 but have not yet confirmed it, in fact, fixes the problem.

Man, I hate printers…
