Your ID file could not be found on the server

Hi,

we have a R12.02FP5HF8 domino server running HCL Nomad version: 1.0.13.54-46

With this configuration, using the same browser, some users can login and some others can not with the message:

"Your ID file could not be found on the server. Nomad setup requires that your ID file be available in the ID vault on the server".

All the users have an entry in the vault database.

I can switch from a user to the others, with the ones who can login I'm asked for the password while with the ones who cannot the server return that error message.

For those user that cannot login to Nomad trying the url http://<servername>:9443/nomad/userConfig.json I get:

"Error:
Something went wrong. Please consult the server log".

But the server log is clean.

Some user has a policy with SharedLogin active some hasn't but they are not the same.

There is something that can affect a user to access a Nomad Server?

thanks in advance
tommaso

Hello Tommaso,

It looks like nomad is unable to read the ID Vault document from the vault database.

You may try resetting the ID file password in the vault and then try the nomad access.

The URL https://mynomad.acme.com:9443/nomad/userConfig.json will only work after user is validated on the server when you click on "Continue" after entering the user name in the below window.

In another tab when you hit https://mynomad.acme.com:9443/nomad/userConfig.json it shows as below.

Without the validation of the user on the nomad server. You will see the message "Error:
Something went wrong. Please consult the server log" as below.

For testing different users on the same machine. It is suggested to use the different browser to test.

Thank you

Hi Jamkhandi,

just a question, does the password reset affect the SharedLogin?

i.e. actually the user isn't using any password except the one to login into the PC, if I reset the vault password the user has to be informed before?

Thanks a lot

It will not affect the Notes Shared Logon on already configured machine when you reset the Notes ID password in the ID vault.

Thank you and let me know how it goes.
