You cannot update or delete the document since you are not listed in the allowable author

I am updating the authors field usingSet aitem=Curdoc.ReplaceItemValue"Doc_Authors",Avalue)

aitem.IsAuthors=True

The values are correctly.When I see the document properties the summary fiels is READ/WRITE

but when the person with the approproate role tries to edit the document ,throws the error ,“You cannot update or delte the docuemnt since your are not listed as an allowable author”

When I debug the code ,it throws the error wherever I have the code

Call doc.save(true,true)

Could anyone has any idea?

Can you post your code. It will be helpful to determine what exactly is being updated in DocAuthors field.

Can you verify that the user really has that [role]? If a notes app, have them click the security tab, or make a special button for them to click and have that button send you the list of their roles. I’ve often found that an array of entries in the ACL can make it confusing as to who has what roles.

Also, do doc properties and verify that the field values look correct. For example, if it’s multi-value then make sure the values really are distinct.

is the database on the server or local ? locally roles don’t work

Yes I have update in the roles with the brackets and the database is in the server
