I just tested the latest Client under Wine (Codeweavers CrossOver Office). The install still doesnt work, but if you copy the program over from another windows partition, IT WORKS!!! No more RBOD !! Even Designer and Admin Client run like native… this is so cool…

…even though it’s no longer officially supported.

That is EXCELLENT news!

And in a moment of synchronicity, I noticed this link on Brent Simmons’ site (http://inessential.com) today:
http://darwine.sourceforge.net/
The Darwine project intends to port and develop WINE as well as other supporting tools that will allow Darwin and Mac OS X users to run Windows Applications.

Doesn’t work for me.
Tried it that way with CrossOver and RedHat9B.
I can start it and I get the first screen (that one that shows Rel. 6.5.1) and after that it’s over nothing happens. No error message it’s just gone
I tried it with a full (used) Notes installation, too. That one goes on step further: I can choose the location. But after that it is over again…
I used “/opt/cxoffice/bin/wine” --check -cx-app “C://Program Files//Lotus Notes 6//notes.exe” to start it.
Any ideas?
Thanks

You need the following dll’s: mfc42.dll, mfc42u.dll, msvcrt.dll, msvcp60.dll(don’t ask me why!)
They can be found in Windows/System32 but under Crossover or Wine you have to put them directly into the Windows folder.
Client works fine - think now is the time to say good bye to Microsoft. I allways wanted to change to Linux but Notes was the main reason to keep me away from that step!
