Xpages build app target for lower release version

I have DDE version 8.5.2 running against a server that is version 8.5.1. I recently downloaded an .nsf from OpenNTF that said it was compatible with version 8.5.1. When I built it and then tried to open it I got the error in the subject line. It doesn’t appear to use any 8.5.2 specific coding, so I am a bit stumped. I emailed the developer but was wondering if anyone else has run into this type of problem, and if so, what you can do? Is the only solution to download the 8.5.1 DDE client?
