XP2 broke iNotes Web Access

Strange thing: after applying XP SP2, some users weren’t able to open their mailbox with IE 6. All software incl. Domino installed in english.

There seems to be a problem with international charaters in views. While ae (ä) displays as C$ and oe (ö) displays as C6 in the subject, the use of ue (ü) crashes iNotes-Views. After ‘Fetching records’ there pops up an error ‘Error encountered fetching data. Click the browser’s Refresh button to reload the page.’ and no data is displayed in the inbox or any other folder.

Well, I can’t restrict the use of ue’s? So, has anyone found a solution for this.

Running 6.5.2 and no problems in testing other than exempting our site from the pop up blocker.

And that only seems to be an issue if the new mail notification is turned on, IE thinks the notifications arepop ups.

Anyone testing with 6.0.4? I don’t like to upgrade to 6.5 right now…

Here is a fix.

iNotes_WA_GZIP_Disable=1

Add this to the server’s NOTES.INI and restart the server.

This will turn off the new “GZIP” compression that iNotes 6.5.x uses.

This problem is caused by a particular patch of IE. It seems those browsers with Q828750 don’t work.

Supposedly the CSP for IE6 fixes the problem but we had mixed results.

Markus, I have the exact error happening and was wondering if you tried Chris Barret’s fix?If so, did it work?
