Wrong version of domadmin.nsf

Since installing Notes 9, I get this message: “wrong version of domadmin.nsf” whenever I fire up the administrator client.

To try to make it happy, I’ve created a new domadmin.nsf database from the domadmin.ntf client – but it’s still not happy.

I have a workaround for the problem which is called “IGNORE IT” but it’s just annoying to get that big error prompt and beep when you fire up Admin.

Any ideas? Googling reveals nothing on this.

Subject: Design refresh

Hi Randal,

had the same problem. I’ve fixed it by refreshing the design of the local domadmin.nsf with a template vers.9.

Unfortunately the current version of the domadmin.ntf is not copied automatically to the data-directory specified in the notes.ini, so you need to find the original installation path and then copy it to your data-directory.

If a design refresh doesn’t work, try a design replacement.

Good luck, Simon

Subject: Has anyone else experienced this yet?

Yes, I always keep my Notes data in d:\data\notes.

I always keep my Notes data (indeed all my data) on a physically separate drive separate from the operating system, so that when Windows crashes and burns bad as it variably does from time to time over the years, I have that one more source of backup and security by having the data separate.

Subject: Notes Data

Hi,

i think you use a different DATA-Folder. Do you start notes with …notes.ini?

The new templates are stored in the new data-Folder or shared Directory, but your notes client uses a other data.

Chris

Subject: Did you upgrade from a Beta Version of 9.0?

Can you send me your notes.ini file from your Admin Client? Thanks!
