Workspace Stacked Icons Pointing to Wrong Db's

Hi, I’ve seen bits and pieces about this before, but would appreciate any input on the subject.

My workspace is big and since 8.5.1 and now 8.5.2 contains problems links where a stacked Db icon links to multiple replicas of the right database, but also includes a link to one completely different database.

I have found no way to remove those erroneous links.

My attempt today took this more destructive route, which reduced the number of problem links, but still generated more than the 12 I’ve found so far…

Delete cache.ndk, bookmark.nsf, desktop6,ndk, desktop8.ndk and the Workspace directory in \Data

Add in a donor desktop6.ndk from my clean and nicely working sister PC, that’s still running 6.5.4 with my original workspace (until all my users are on 8.5.?).

Restart Notes and watch it grunt and groan through a rebuild of the workspace, etc.

Then check the stacked Db’s and start finding the problems, such as the stack for a directory catalogue DCatMobQ.nsf holding links to the correct Db replica’s on all servers, but also including at extra link to the unrelated domlog.nsf

So my question is, has anyone found a way to clean-up this sort of mess?

I’m not looking to re-build my workspace from scratch because (a) it’s 500+mb of largely useful links and (b) I can’t have this sort of fix applied to my high end users, without complaints and calls to replace Notes.

Ta, Chris

Subject: OK, I gave up completely

Bit the bullet that is deletion of workspace, bookmarks, cache, etc. repair installation of 8.5.2 (again) and start from a blank bookmarks/workspace.Result…a working system, but one that’s a little short on database links, lol.

Now I’ll start another main topic on the next woe of the reborn workspace. How do those deleted replica links come back to haunt?

BTW: Workspace is, to me, the simplest way to manage multiple databases with multiple replica’s.

Bookmarks do not give me a swift access method.
