We have users (version 6.5) that work on an application offline (replica of production). The form has a button that does a lookup to the NAB. If the user is working offline, how are they supposed to get a list of production names if they can’t access the production NAB without making a local replica of the NAB?
We are trying to discourage the users from copying and pasting person entries into their personal NAB.

If you want them to be able to access entries in the NAB2. Without being connected or replicating the full NAB
Create an alternative directory
Replicate that locally
Set it up (user preferences) as an additional directory for searching.
Step 5 would be the same for a local replica of the NAB.

Subject: consider using a directory catalog
For your offline users, consider creating a mobile or condensed directory catalog. Since they already replicate the application db, it should not be too difficult to get them to replicate the directory catalog db as well.
If they have laptop PCs, consider encrypting the local replica for security.
