anybody have faced running Domino Server on Itanium 64-bit processor server?I did installation and there’s no problem during installation and first config.
But i’m not sure for its performance.
Have Domino 6 already support Windows 2003 64-bit?
If u there know the announcement/news regarding Domino-Itanium (most I want is the announcement from Lotus Company that stated they are ready to give support for this new OS, Windows on Itanium proc),
please let me know
Thank you
Subject: Windows 64-bit (Itanium proc)
For what it’s worth…
I’d be interested to know too, we’re looking into using Itanium hardware now.
I’ve heard from a colleague that HP gave a demonstration of their Itanium series running Windows 2003 with Oracle, Domino and others at the same time with apps being spread across specific CPUs.
I believe Windows 2003 really only gives true performance gains when run on an Itanium processor.
2003 is also supposed to get over the 3.6Gb RAM ceiling that Domino currently experiences on Intel platforms.
Since Domino has been available for 64-bit Alpha for many years perhaps it won’t be too far off.
I hope we can have something official very soon.
