The installation of Lotus Notes client 6.5.3 goes fine in windows 2003 but it fails to copy the notes.ini file. Manual creating of the file and running the configuration works fine. Also it does not update the path info in the Env Variable of OS.
Tried on couple of machines and it behaves the same. Is Notes client 6.5.3 not be installed in Windows 2003.

The Lotus Support site says the following :
Support for Windows 2003 will begin with Domino versions 6.0.3 and 6.5.
The Notes Release 6 client will not be supported on Windows 2003.
There are currently no plans for support on the 64-bit version of Windows 2003.
The Notes R5 client and Domino R5 server will not be supported on Windows 2003.
So I guess you have found out why it won’t be supported !

Subject: Here is how I got it to work
I got it work by doing the following:
1 - Installed to the C:\Lotus\Notes (Program) and C:\Lotus\Notes\Data (Data) directories
2 - Search & find the Notes.INI (was in the C:\Windows folder) and move it to the C:\Lotus\Notes folder
3 - Edit the Notes.INI file to include the Notes Data directory location, which in my case was ‘C:\Lotus\Notes\Data’
4 - Restart the Notes client and go through the Client Configuration
The end result was a fully functioning Notes client on a Windows 2003 Terminal Services server, no problem.
