Wildcard in FT web search

Using wildcards in searches produces unexpected results.I have documents with the following values in lname (one document for each value):

Wilkins

Wilson

Williams

Willard

Wilchar

If my query=lname+CONTAINS+wil* the williams entries do not show.

Using FT search in the notes client works correctly.

I’m running 6.0.1CF1 on OS/400 V5R2

I don’t see this anywhere in the fix list db.

When will this be fixes?

I’m wrestling with the same problem and I think it’s not just the iSeries platform. IBM support have been notified of the problem.

I’ve found that Wildcard searching will work when ‘Index Attachments’ is OFF on the FTBuild. Build the FTINDEX with Attachment Indexing ON and the Wildcard searching starts to return incomplete results. Very annoying problem.

I’ve since had to move my project to a Wintel box running 6.0.2 CF2. There are not attachments in my database, and attachmentindexing has no effect on my search results.

I can only hope that this will be fixed in 6.0.4 ( I don’t see it in 6.0.3 ) or in a CF.
