Why is a Draft Subject not visible?

A user has three templates in her mail DB. When she opens these templates, the content of the subject line is not visible and the subject line cannot be edited.

I have reconfigured HCL Notes on her computer but the problem is still there.

When I open her mail DB on my computer, I can see and edit the subject lines of the templates.

What could be the problem here?

Hi Andrew,

Hope you are doing well!

Based on your description, the issue appears to be specific to the user’s Notes client, as the subject lines are visible and editable when the same mail database is accessed from a different machine.

Please try the following steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Check Display Settings

    • Ensure the user is not using a custom or high-contrast Windows theme that may affect UI visibility.

    • Navigate to File → Preferences → Fonts and Colors and reset to default settings if any customization is applied.

  2. Clear Cache.ndk and Workspace Cache

    • Delete the cache.ndk file from the Notes data directory.

    • Rename the workspace folder located in the same directory.

    • Restart the Notes client afterward.

If the issue persists after performing the above steps, please refer to the following knowledge article for further guidance:
