When sending emails using iNOTES, there’s a big problem with the “from sender:” field being format as Hierarchical address “eg. sender_gates/organization@domain.com” and not as the specified internet address (eg. sender@domain.com). Many people have this problems over the years as can be seen by the numerous postings. Surely this is an iNOTES bug. And surely LOTUS is aware of this iNOTES internet address formatting problem. And this problem has been around for many years. But why doesn’t LOTUS Fixed it??? I do not understand.
BTW. Up to date, there has been no documentation by LOTUS on how to correctly configure internet addresses for iNOTES. Why is LOTUS vague about this issue??? Most curious.
example: “sender@domain.com” instead of hierarchical name “sender_gates/organization@domain.com”?

Do you have the same problem with Notes Client? In that case, you should modify the Global Domain Document to not have this hierarchical address…

The problem is not iNotes or Domino Web Access as it is colled now. The problem is the bad configuration of the Global Domain, Person File and Location File. For your problem, you solve it by simply puting the internet adress in the user document. If this does not fix the problem check the Global Domain Document.
(after doing modification to the global domain, dont forget to restart the Router and SMTP tasks, better restart the domino server)

Hi Liviu, even if bad configuration of Global Domain. Why is LOTUS so vague about the issue that so many iNOTES administrator is having problem with. Why isn’t there any documentation on how to correctly configure the GLOBAL domain document for iNOTES use, as in what settings is require to be in the fields of the GLOBAL domain document for iNOTES to correctly form the internet address/ instead of hierarchical address???No I do not have a problem with NOTES. Notes is correctly forming the interent addresses. But format hierarchical address when using iNOTES from a WEB BROWSER.

There should be a CLIENT configuration to use the “Internet Address” field in the Dom Directory
