Is there a list / table / resource with all known Lotus Notes build numbers?
I need to report in an application what version of Lotus Notes is installed and showing that it’s build number 194 is not very friendly.
Thx

Subject: Where can I find Lotus Notes build numbers?
@Version help in Domino designer contains a table showing the builds and their version.
Subject: RE: Where can I find Lotus Notes build numbers?
Sorry, I am not sure how to get to this, my only notes experience goes through the C++ API…
There’s an FAQ: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=0&q1=build+number&uid=swg21088431&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&cc=us&lang=en and http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=0&uid=swg21103234 and a tool, nwhatver.exe, but I wonder whether they built a hardcoded table in nwhatver…
Thx

Subject: RE: Where can I find Lotus Notes build numbers?
Here is how to get the NotesVersion in LotusScript: Dim sess As New NotesSession
Dim sVer As String
Msgbox sess.NotesBuildVersion & " (" & sess.NotesVersion & ")",64,"Notes Build Version:"
' Translate into Version:
Select Case sess.NotesBuildVersion
Case 114
sVer = "3.x"
Case 136
sVer = "4.0x"
Case 138
sVer = "4.1x"
Case 145
sVer = "4.5.x"
Case 147
sVer = "4.6.x"
Case 166
sVer = "5.x"
Case 190
sVer = "6.0, 6.01"
Case 191
sVer = "6.0.2"
Case 194
sVer = "6.0.3, 6.5"
Case Else
sVer = "Unknown Version"
End Select
Msgbox "Version: " & sVer,64,"Version (Translated)"
You could actually do a more dynamic solution (thus avoiding hardcoding the version-table) by extracting the version from the NotesSession.NotesVersion returnvalue, but I’m not sure if all versions are typed in the same way… I sure hope so.
Or if You prefer using @Formulas, then use:
VER_NO := “114”:“136”:“138”:“145”:“147”:“166”:“190”:“191”:“194”;
VER_STRING := “3.x”:“4.0x”:“4.1x”:“4.5.x”:“4.6.x”:“5.x”:“6.0, 6.01”:“6.0.2”:“6.0.3, 6.5”;
CURR_VER := @Version;
MEM_NO := @Member(CURR_VER;VER_NO);
@If(MEM_NO <> 0;@Prompt([OK];“Version:”;VER_STRING[MEM_NO]);@Prompt([OK];“Version:”;“Unknown Version!”))
