Possibly they’re just blocking ping packets - a lot of firewalls have that as an option…

Could access www.lotus.com from home, not from the openntf server. Other sites (IBM) were accessible.

Can’t confirm that, at least for the last couple of days. And as Sthephen pointed out, pinging a web server is absolutely no way to determin if it’s up and running. Of course, there’s always the possibility of a problem with the DNS server used at a special location, but AFAIK there’s little IBM can do about that.

www-10.lotus.com is LDD, and that’s fine (I’m posting to it; it has been down from time to time over the last weeks…)www.lotus.com appears to be fine (from a browser).

What’s lotus-00.lotus.com?

As was said, testing with a browser is a better test. Many firewalls treat pings as hostile intrusion attempts and may even lock your IP address out for x minutes. (Our corporate one does!
