What mean the grey arrow in the view list?

Good morning, I found in the view list, some of the views have the grey arrow beside the view’s name, the default view is blank arrow and only one, I do not know what mean about the views with grey arrow.

Thanks a lot.

I think you are referring to the arrow on the right side that are used to scroll up or down and to see the rest of the views.

If you notice, the arrows will be in pairs so when one is grey you can click on the other to scroll the list of views.

Thanks Ayaz for your reply, what I am asking is in the right side of the view list in the design.

Thanks,

Linda

If you mean the ‘right side’ as in opposite of the left side, those check marks enunciate the client context the view is available under…Notes client/Web client/Mobile client…

On the left, grey arrows mark hidden views without a parenthetical alias

The difference I can see is that Allow Customization on the second tab is not checked on my views with a grey arrow. Check yours & let me know if this is it.

Hi Sam, I have checked it. In the design, the view list has some columns, the first one is “Name/Comment”, the second is “Alias”, then is “Last Modified”…, the grey arrow I am asking is in the left side of the “Name/Comment”, the view name with a parentheses, some of the views have alias.

Thanks everyone for the responding.

It just means the view will be hidden from the client. If you mouse over the grey arrow it shows “hidden”. These views are hidden because the view name is enclosed in brackets. You can view “hidden” views on the client if you keep the Ctrl and Shift buttons pressed and use the mouse to goto View\Go To… You will then see all the hidden views in the list

Hi Hughster, The thing is I found some of the view have the grey arrow, some of them do not have even if all of them are enclosed in brackets.

Can I ask what is the different?

Once again, thank you so much.

If the views names are in brackets, check the alias’s. If there is a space in front of, or after, the alias name then they will not have the “hidden” arrow. Removing these spaces will make the arrow appear.Seems to only do it if the database was copied with the space infront of the alais. Adding a space to an alias that already shows the arrow does not appear to do anything

I put () around the alias of one of my hidden views and the grey arrow appeared. When I took them off, it disappeared.

Yes, Now I know that.

Thanks all of you!
