What is the email address suffix for Notes

Hi, I am new to Domino/Notes. Don’t laugh if this is too simple. I’ve just added a Domino server to our network running side by side with Exchange server 2000 and some day it will replace the Exchange server. The installation and initial configuration went fine. Yet I don’t know what is the email address suffix for our Domino user. Here are the information:

Domino server: N-mail1

Domino Organization: Corp-HQT

Domino Domain: Corp-HQT

Windows 2000 Domain: XYZCorp

The Domino server is a stand alone server.

Can anyone tell me what our email adress suffix is for our Domino user?

Is it soandso@corp-hqt.com or is it soandso@xyzcorp.com? (At the Exchange side, the email address for the Exchange user is soandso@xyzcorp.com. Wouldn’t it be confusing if two systems are using the same address suffix?) Better yet, could you tell me where I can find such entry in Domino Manager? In Exchange Server, it’s in the Recipients Policies\default policy node. I appreciate your help. - Fan

It is whatever you have entered in the Person Documents of your users (on the Notes side) and whatever you have in your Global Domain Document for your Domino server (which is how Domino decides if it will accept mail for xyzcorp.com). It could also be corp-hqt.com.

Take a look at your Person Documents, you Global Domain Doc, and also your Messaging Configuration Doc. Those should tell you pretty much everything that you need to know about mail routing in your environment.
