A user called earlier this afternoon saying she was getting a ‘Query not understandable’ message when adding a document.
Now, my users add people/businesses, so the form has a name field and an id field. I take this and do a ftsearch on the other names (last name or business name) to make sure that person/business isn’t already there. (You can’t imagine how many repeats I get even WITH the check!) But that’s not the problem.
ANYWAY! I asked for the name of the person and the id number. She said -first name- -middle initial- and last name “Field”, -id number-. Ok, so I tried it…and BAM! ‘Query not understandable’. Hmmmm…DUH!!! Just FIELD doesn’t work in a ftsearch!! LOL
Lesson: PUT QUOTES AROUND IT!!
I never thought of that happening! I had to share just in case someone else finds themselves with a hmmmmmm on a ftsearch!
