Weird Email Format

When one of our users sends and email to an outside company, the recipient get the email in this format. The recipient is using Outlook. I had the sender send me an email to my home address and I received it through Outlook, it was fine. My thinking is that Outlook is screwing up somewhere. Anyone ever see anything like this?

Subject: I would think it is more likely the mail server (Exchange?), not the client (Outlook)

e.g. there could be a setting to allow only text to go thru on the server (no Attachment, no Script, no URL References to a picture calling home that the mail was opened etc)

Subject: Weird Email Format

Ok, thanks. I will see if it can be looked at on the other side. Other feedback would be appreciated.

Subject: Send a test from a different person in your company (your pc) to another person in this other company

This helps for multiple reasons:

a) your internal person has to show if there is enough interest in the subject to go that far (you are not really asking for a lot)

b) you get into contact to someone on the other side (could ask if this happend from other sources, too).

c) you can eliminate fairly sure all individual only client side issues if it is reproduceable (or it points to the clients if not).

Subject: Hmmm…

Yeah, it’s definitely the user’s client. It seems to happen when he replies to the outside user’s reply.

To summarize the steps and successes…

  1. Internal user creates new message and sends to external user’s Outlook account.

  2. External user receives internal user’s email. It looks normal.

  3. External user replies to internal user’s email. Looks fine upon receipt.

  4. Internal user responds to external user’s reply. Received at external user’s account with wacky formatting.

I upgraded him to 8.0.2 today, same results. Design replaced. No luck.

Subject: Now Move the users ID themporary to another PC …

If I got you right and if it happens again, and still just from one user, Its either the Mailfile (Configuration?) or something on the server special to this server (Person records, group membership)

Subject: Done with it…

I set up another client on a separate PC and did the same tests and everything worked. I even used the same ID he has on his PC. I am going to completely remove his client and add it back on. That should take care of it.

Thanks for the help on this.
