WebTrends 8

We have been using WebTrends for many years. We will like to upgrade from WebTrends version 7.5b to 8. But we were told by their support team that the new version will not support Domino Log. We are using Domino 6.5 server to host several web sites. The Domino server generates one log file each day, which is being used as a source by the WebTrends process. We are using data source splitters.

I will really appreciate if you have answers for any of the following questions.

  1. What are my options?

  2. Are there any third party tools which can split one Domino log file into individual log files for each website? The new log files should be in a format which is acceptable to WebTrends 8.

  3. Can Domino 8 generate separate log files for individual web sites?

  4. Where can I find detail information on Smart Source Data Collector for Domino?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I’m not sure how you are set up, If you are using the Domino Server as a virtual server then our Workflo!Log Analyzer (Virtual Server) will do the job. It creates a Log Analyzer DB for each (or any) of the virtual nodes and separates the hits into the appropriate node DB. If you are using a single Domino Server and then redirecting the incoming hits then the Workflo!Log Analyzer will do the most of the job. You might have to create some additional views to split out the hits.

Because Workflo!Log Analyzer is 100% Notes/Domino it understands the Domino URL and is able to return real human readable information. Plus the design is open so creating additional views etc is really simple. We have done all of the ‘heavy’ lifting evaluating the URL.

In any case you can down load a full function Demo from our site at:

Many of our clients have switched to Workflo!Log Analyzer from WebTrends because of the difficulty of interpreting the Domino URL.

I am not sure what the status of it is now, but we use urchin and like it alot, especially with notes.
