Hi there,
I am currently looking into the Webex UI that Cisco introduced in Notes with there productivity tools. With most of our employees in the home office, this has turned now into an interesting topic in our company and not everybody is satisfied what he/she got.
Someone here who intends to go or is already gone into this direction ?
Jochen "Joe" Herrmann
Hi Jochen,
I had a very "sad" experience about the integration between Notes and the Cisco productivity tool...
In the start I discovered that their support was limited to the release 9.0.1 of "IBM" Notes, then I met many problems about the integration with Notes 901 (the customer is still on release 9.0.1) because their "reference" email client is clearly MS Outlook (maybe I should say "exclusively"), so in few specific passages of the "scheduler" we met few pop-up messages which notify the user that the Cisco productivity tool was not able to find Outlook on his PC...
So with the Cisco support I "discovered" that few functions of the productivity tool were not designed to work with Notes but only with Outlook...
Finally the "coup de grace" has arrived, because their support for Notes will be dropped on the next December, here it's the link:
https://help.webex.com/en-us/np1t7y6/Announcements-for-the-Cisco-Webex-Meetings-Suite
End of Support for Cisco Webex Scheduler with Google Chrome Extension, Webex Scheduler for Internet Explorer, Webex Integration to IBM Lotus Notes, Skype for Business, and IBM Sametime
We will be officially retiring support for the Cisco Webex Scheduler with Google Chrome Extension, Webex Scheduler for Internet Explorer, Webex Integration to IBM Lotus Notes, Skype for Business, and IBM Sametime on December 31, 2020. They will no longer be available for download from January 1, 2021. Users of Cisco Webex Scheduler with Google Chrome Extension should move to the newer version of Cisco Webex for G Suite add-on.
Needless to say, the customer is definitely disappointed, but as we all know these kind of strategies are not technical driven.

Giannandrea,
thanks for your reply. This is interesting and sad indeed.
But on the other hand this info could help me to push Sametime forward in our company. Licenses are cheaper than webex as far as I know, it's internal and independent; means our data is not going somewhere to somewhom into the cloud and we Notes Developers would have a much better customisable platform than with Webex.
The only thing we can't do with Sametime is to create a meeting with more than n=50 users ( please correct me, if the number is wrong) But from my experience more than ~90% of all Webex sessions are less than 16 users.
So may be that is also interesting approach for you and your customer. If his infrastructure also needs only small meetings (<n) and has already a Notes infrastructur ... Bingo ! Give it a try.
Thanks and have good day,
Jochen "Joe" Herrmann
Hi Jochen,
I don't have precise information about existing ST constraints, anyway I definitely agree with you with your points :-)
I've been happy to share with the Community my "unpleasant" experience with the Cisco productivity tool.
Cheers

Hi Jochen,
I ran in axactly the same trouble. Cisco support on this topic is a nightmare...nobody knows anything.
At the end I even didn't get any answer from them at all. I did not get any serious information from nobody. Always the same link to the tools that do not work. No documentation, nothing.
A colleague found out the following Notes built-in solution as in the attachment.
Thomas
This is of course no full solution but suits for most cases.
