Session Details

This session will cover the basic essentials of monitoring your Domino environment (ND6, ND7, and ND8), leveraging features such as Stats & Events and Domino Domain Monitoring (DDM). Presentation slides will be made available (attached to the above referenced link) about 24 hours prior to the webcast.

When Dialing In

When dialing in, you will need to provide your name and company affiliation. You will need a touch tone phone to be able to ask questions. The presentation will be recorded and made available (in potentially edited form) via the web page containing dial-in numbers above.

You can find an up-to-date schedule of upcoming Open Mic calls and Webcast calls, as well as links to slides and recordings from past calls, here:

http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=899&uid=swg27011126

Open Mic calls are Question & Answer sessions with a panel of subject matter experts covering your questions without going thru a slide presentation.

Webcasts are slide presentations by a single presenter followed by Questions & Answers related to the material covered, as time permits.

Please remember to book your calendar for this call. We look forward to talking with you!

Subject: Questions/Topics

  1. Previously, I used a product called Candle Intelliwatch.

With this tool you could setup corrective actions for event triggers in addition to notifications.

For example, if the line <database.nsf> is corrupt generated a trigger, you could configure an action to run fixup on that database.

Is this possible in R7 or R8?

  1. Is it possible to customize the subject of notification emails from event triggers to be more meaningful for any given environment.

Specifically, some of the notification subjects are too long to see the full subject on a Blackberry device. This makes it difficult to see which ones and how many problematic servers you have quickly. You have to open the individual messages to see the full subject.

For example and sample notification subject might be: “The probe has timed out for the following statistic: QOS.Mail.CN=Server1/OU=CORP/O=Ourdomain.ResponseTime [NADN-7F9D32]”

On your Blackberry device, you can only see: “The probe has timed out”
