Web Service and/or SOAPConnect

Hi, i’m trying to consume a web service, and having a flick through this forum i’ve discovered some people pointing out this little gem called SOAPConnect in the Sandbox:

Problem is, I keep getting this error:

"Error opening socket: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect’. "

Does anyone know how to make SOAPConnect work? Alternatively, does anyone have a “Using SOAPConnect 101” or “Notes Web Services for Dummies” list of instructions so I can get a ‘Notes Web Services hello world’ to run?

There are several ways to consume a web serviceSOAPConnect is a more complex way of doing it

if you send me the web service I can see if there is a more simple way to consume it
