In the recipient’s inbox it reads something like “Current Name notesuser@ourdomain.com” and we’d like to change it to something like “New Name notesuser@ourdomain.com” (note the address is still the same).
Is there a way to do this without going through the whole rename user process? The full name can stay the same as it’s not an issue with the internal workings of our system.

On 6.5, you can change the Internet Mail Address on the Basics tab of the location document to New Name notesuser@ourdomain.com.
On Notes 7, this will still work if you have that Internet Mail Address from a previous version, but if you edit the location document, it won’t let you save with the ‘friendly’ name format.

Is this a generic mailbox? if so create a mailin db,
If not, change the mail file owner, to whatever you want, you will get a prompt but it should work.
