My Volt MX Go IRIS installation (Version 9 SP 5 FP 15) wants to download and install an update on Version 9 SP 5 FP 18. Is this update compatible with Volt MX GO or does this update again kill the Domino related features, such as the import of Domino NSF designs?
Hi Julian,
The newest version of HCL Volt MX Go is version 2.0.2 and it includes the Go Volt Iris version 9.5.18. Hence, this will be a valid and safe update to your Go Volt Iris.
@Dai Nguyen I know that there is version 2.0.2, which includes IRIS version 9.5.18, but you didn't answer my question:
What happens when I use the integrated update feature in IRIS Go? Will it break Domino related features such as the import of Domino NSF desigsn?
Hi Julian,
The updated Go release of Volt Iris version 9.5.18 should not break Design Import feature because this is a Volt Go Iris and its updates.
The standard Volt MX Iris, part of HCL Volt MX (not a part of Go), is now up to version 9.5.20, which is a different track of development and release.
Yes, you are correct in that the Volt Go Iris must NOT be updated with the standard Volt Iris fix pack, because by doing so you will lose Go-only features, like Design Import.
Volt MX Go Iris has been updated to only look to the plugin updates for "Go." Previously in the EA releases this was not the case and you were correct to be cautions. As of now, starting Go Iris if you are presented with a prompt to update the IDE, you should be safe and may continue with this and not lose any of the Go features.
We are working diligently to combine the code streams for Volt MX Go, and Volt MX so this confusion will no longer be present. I'm sure we will have a post in this forum once we are able to complete that work and it will be noted in the "What's New" section of a later release.
