If a Notes dB has two forms “$$viewtemplatedefault” and “$$searchtemplatedefault”. We know both forms can have search functions(javascript) in place.
My question: when a view of this dB was searched on the web, which form is picked by Domino for the view search, “$$Viewtemplatedefault” or “$$searchtemplatedefault”?

$$SearchTemplateDefault is used to display the results of a search if no “$$SearchTemplate for ViewNameOrAlias” exits.
This is the same as the $$ViewTemplateDefault behaviour - $$ViewTemplateDefault displays the contents of a view if no “$$ViewTemplate for ViewNameOrAlias” exists.
As for where the search is performed - the search is done in the view referenced - that is http://server/db.nsf/viewname?searchview will only show results that would display in that view.
