Views not refreshing for end users

User opens a view and gets this message: “This view is being updated. It will display as soon as the update completes. You can continue working with other Notes windows while the view is updating”

User waits 10 seconds or so and view opens but no documents are displayed. No refresh icon is displayed.

User presses F9 and the view is refreshed and the documents display.

View settings are

Refresh : “Auto, at most every 24 hours”

Discard: “If inactive for 7 days”

Views with default settings of refresh “Automatic” work OK.

Views reportedly worked no problem on 6.5 servers/clients.

Has anyone experienced similar problems?

Setting the view refresh/index settings to the default will resolve the issue but surely the above settings should not display a blank view even if the view has already been refreshed in the previous 24 hours.
