View selection oddity

We have effectively a mailfile calendar being used to co-ordinate all our training sessions - (the calendar invites staff to training meetings). All works fine. But we need a view of who has had what training. So I created a view with selection formula:

SELECT (@Contains(From; @UserName)) & (@Contains(Subject; “Accepted”))

to pick up all the accepted training invitations, and this works fine for me.

But when the next user looks at it they get MY view. Press shift-f9 and then it works for them. But the next view user then gets THEIR data etc etc…

Can this be fixed?

You should not use @Username in public views!

oh bother!

So how do I achieve the desired effect?

Embeded views with show single category enabled are the way to go.

Create a categorized column (first column) with the From field in it. Embed the view on a page (or form!) and put @username in the show single category formula.

Won’t I have to make all the users authors of that db for that to work?
