Very strong Time Issue on xSeries 366!

Hi Group

Since we migrated our Applications on a new platform (some weeks ago), we’ve some really hard time issues.

Hardware: IBM eServer xSeries 366

OS: Windows 2003 Advanced Server

Domino 6.5.4 FP2

Domino Cluster: Yes, 2-servers-clusters

Application Type: Web Applications

Special: URL-Based HTTP-Loadbalancer (on ISO/OSI Layer 7)

What’s happen?`

→ We’ve 4 xSeries 366 and 9 xSeries 346. On all four xSeries 366 we’ve the problem, that the OS-Time work’s not fine. If the timedifference on one of the systems is greather than around 5 seconds, the users have problems when they try to logon (Multi Server SSO).

Could it be a Domino Problem witch affect the OS-Time? Is there someone witch knows a similar issue?

Thanks.

Noldy

I’m not an expert in multi-server SSO, but it sounds like you need to get all of the servers to synchronize with an NTP server. This should keep them close enough together to prevent issues.

Here’s an article on windowsnetworking.com which explains how to:

Thanks, Peter. We allready do this. We tried some different methods to sync our time. At the moment, we sync over scheduled windows task - every 30 Minutes.

Has someone seen this? nsftools - Lotus Notes API Tips

Any other ideas?
