Validating docs in an embedded view

Hi,

I have a form that has an embedded view.

The embedded view may or may not contain documents.

The embedded view has columns like:

doc | doc status | approved

==================

doc1 Open NULL (blank)

doc2 Finished Yes

I would like to write a LS or Formula to check:

  1. if the embedded view contains docs

  2. if there are ANY documents in the embedded view that is “Open” and .

To get the values, I am using

@DbLookup(“” : “NoCache”; “”; “EmbeddedView”; DocUniqueID; 3);NULL)

However, I have trouble checking for NULL

@IsMember(NULL;Status);

returns true even if the field is populated.

How do I check for NULL in an embedded view?

An embedded view is no different from any other view. How would you check for NULL (hint: “”) in that case?

My issue was that

@IsMember(NULL;Status);

does not work

Does the above caputures if there are nulls in Status field (multivalue)?

I simplified the field @formula and it is working now. I have no idea why it was not working.

May be I need to refreshhideformula or something…
