I wanted to ask when the support article for V7 will be updated regarding IBM WAS 8.5.5.22 and IBM HTTP Server 8.5.5.22. Only the last WAS 8.5.5.21 is currently supported. The new WAS version brings a lot of bug fixes and security fixes. Is there an exact plan when the support documentation will be updated?
In my opinion, it is important that the latest WAS version is always supported, even for slightly older CNX versions.
According to the documentation, the CNX V8 can be operated with WAS 8.5.5.22.
I see your point Max, but you can install IFPH fixes on top of FP21 and have the same patch or security level. So FP22 is just more convenient.
But I want to support this request, installing Connections with the connections-automation scripts needs just some hours and so it can be tested with a lot of different versions.
For me, it is not understandable, that after the release of Red Hat 9 in May 2022 it is still not on the list of supported OS (Beta was available from November 2021).
Second the support for Windows Server OS just mentions 2016, this version's Mainstream support ended on January 11, 2022.
As a lot of people are planning the migration to 8 next year, I would expect the OS support for an up-to-date Windows and at least Red Hat 9 with the first CR early next year. CentOS 7 is out of full updates since August 2020, maintenance updates end in 2024. So a free replacement like Rocky Linux, Alma Linux or something other binary compatible with Red Hat 8/9 is highly appreciated.
Pushing in-place updates need a more up-to-date prerequisite and OS support.
I wanted to mention that the Supported Platforms page has been updated - Windows 2019 and RHEL 7.9/8.6 are now correctly listed as well for both Connections versions.
As for additional (and updated) versions across the board we are starting the process to prioritize them now and will post updates as they become available.
