Using Outlook2K with Domino

Hi all,

we are looking for a M$ Exchange equivalent and am looking at what Domino can do for us.

I would like to run it on a Linux Server (though not compulsory).

Can outlook access the domino server and allow for:

Shared Address Books,

Shared Calendars

etc etc

We have about 50 users and want to keep the costs down to a minimum - hence the search for a product similar to Exchange.

Anyone got any thoughts on this ?

cheers,

Adam

Great choice to move to Domino !

Lotus released the iNotes Access for Microsoft Outlook, which, working with outlook client and domino server will allow you to work with your mail and calendar as if you were working with a notes client (mail, calendaring & scheduling).

And you can even work with it when you are off line. I think that shared address books and calendar are integrated to the product (or, sure, will be) see

You can use Outlook as a standard POP client to a Domino server. This will give you email but not calendaring.

If you need calendars you’ll need to look at iNotes Access for Microsoft Outlook.

You are looking for an equivalent - in my oppinion Notes can do more for you - lower costs, high scalability, schared address-books, shedule&calendering for groups - during an internship i had experienced both as administrator - make your users say good-by to microsoft and they will never look back - more than 60 million notes users could not fail
