Using non-Domino LDAP for mail addresing

I want to use non-Domino LDAP for mail addresing. I have configured Directory Assistance … Everythink generally works, but when using Notes client I do not see separate directory entry corresponding to this LDAP server. When I type a name, press F9 - works.

Funny, separate entry is available in iNotes client…

If I create clients account for this LDAP server - works. Must I really do this?

Thanks for help …

I believe yes.

But even if you see a separate entry on iNotes, don’t you still have to type the name and click ‘Search’?

Yes, I have to. But when I type e.g. first letter, then press ‘search’ - I receive all matches.

Functionality on Lotus Notes is not the same.

(there is the same if I create LDAP account in personal address book)

On Notes Client, you type the first or last name and press F9, it will pull the list of names that match the query.

That’s how it works and you don’t need to create an LDAP account in the personal address book.

You can set the option in your location document to do exhaustive search.

I see, but with Notes account or iNotes I can type first letter (not whole name) and I can see all possibilities …You not always remember the exact spelling of name
