Good Day:
I wrote a JS to post whatever being selected from dialog list onto another field. When the field is editable, it works but not on computed field.
a is the selection list of dialog box whilst b is the value needed from what is being selected from a.
I suspect the event is wrong. specify where shall it apply onto the even on a or b if the code is right.
Pls help. Many thanks.
var frm = window.document.forms[0];
var aa = frm.a;
alert(a.options [aa.selectedIndex].text);
frm.b.value = frm.a.options [aa.selectedIndex].text;

there isn’t this event in javascript for computed fields.I don’t see any need for this, if the field is computed
there is not the option to select a value so why not
using a Formula to put the value of a to b?

Hi Mic:
FYI, there is a selection list of Staff = regular, contract, outsource, 3rd part…and there will be a charge code tied with each the selection and generated onto another field.
Yes, Simon the trick works perfect.
Case close. MANY THANKS BOTH.

If you have a computed field, Domino will render it as text in the browser. In order to create HTML elements for computed fields, select the ‘Generate HTML for all fields’ option in the form properties. You will then be able to get a handle on the field.
