Is it possible to execute an agent in a database without opening the Notes Client first?
Reason is that I’m creating a agent that will setup the Notes Client after a reinstallation, but I want to setup the Client before is actually opens.
Authentication and user rights might be a problem, since the user dosn’t authenticate, but aren’t there a way around that? Like using a temporary ID file that does not have a password assigned?
Any input is welcome!
Kind regards,

You don’t need the Notes Client open or setup, but you need an proper notes.ini with the minimun required settings and the notes dll files.

In the setup I’m developing, I also need to add some Notes.ini settings based on lookup in a few databases, since the rollout has to be automated for 1500 users.
Unfortunately I cannot be done, by just putting an standard notes.ini into the Notes dir.

Hans,I’ts quite possible to use the Notes C API to develop a simple standalone program to run an agent in a database without the Notes client being active. If you would like to email me, I’ll expand on the details.
