I currently manage five different Domino Domains. To take control over some of the administration, I decided to remove some overhead on other servers. Before, each server ran it’s own dircat task, and maintained it’s own dircat.nsf (which consisted of the contents of 5 domain directories).
I have since, decided to take back some control on this, and eliminate the need to have to replicate 5 address books out to servers. I used one server here at my location, and run the dircat task on it. Each domain pushes a copy of its names.nsf to my server. My server runs the dircat task, and builds the directory catalog. It then pushes the dircat.nsf database back out to the other domains. Mail lookup is working for for users, but I do have one problem. It would appear that Groups and ACL to databases are a little out…
For example if I have a group on my domain, /DOMAINA called GroupA Admins defined in my /DOMAINA address book, and in the dircat.nsf database. When adding that Group to the ACL on a database on a server in /DOMAINB, I cannot seem to get the necessary rights to the database. If that database has a replica on one of my servers it is fine, but on the other server it is not.
Is there something wrong with this setup? Should I be using an extended directory catalog instead of a condensed one?
