Domino9.0.1 FP10
Windows Server 2008
Notes 14.0.0 FP4
Problem/Query:
I set up a user where the user’s first name was spelt incorrectly. I used the rename facility in Domino to change the person’s name and all appeared to be OK. I am now trying to set the same user up on a new machine and when I try to register them, the ID file being read from the person’s document on the server refers to their incorrect first name, even though if I examine the Notes Certificates in their person document they are spelt correctly.
If I enter the password when prompted for the ID file with incorrect first name, I get a message saying the persons certificate has expired?
Not sure how to fix this one?
When you use the rename facility, does it rename the person in the ID file? as it appears that has not occurred.
I would initially check the ID file that you are using.
You may do an ID properties using the Tools Pane from the Configuration Tab.
With this, you will be able to see where the conflict is.
This also shows the information about the ID expiration.
Also, since you initiated the rename, did you checked the admin4.nsf if it completes?
This article provides the detailed information what stages it needs to complete a rename of a person:
Hi Christian,
Yes, the ID properties show the old first name, not the new one.
I did check admin4.nsf and there is nothing outstanding and no errors. It appears that everything has occurred in the renaming process other than the ID file stored in the person document still refers to the old first name for some reason. I don’t know how to fix this?
Good day!
You may also try this procedure.
Since the user id is already expired.
In the person document, remove the first 2 correct entries of that person leaving the old person name.
Recertify the old user id thus renewing the user id certificate.
Rename again the incorrect user name to the correct one.
From People View then click Rename.
When setting up try again setting up the user , using his newly certified id.
Once it authenticate with the server, it should complete the process.
How about the expiration? Does it shows expired?
If yes, try to manually certify the ID:
Also, do run the command: “tell adminp process all” in the server console atleast twice.
Check again the admin4.nsf if there is an entry for the rename. If none, repeat the step for the rename and reenter the adminp command again.
