Hi all, I’m trying to do a silent install of the 8.5.1 client and thanks to google/appdeploy and this forum it works alright. But what rights does a restricted user need to do a first run?I’m not totally successful in that department.
Any advices?

it mainly depends on the location of the data directory and notes.ini location.On Single User installations, you should grant the user Modify rights to the data directory, all sub folders and files
If doing a Single User Installation, you should change the default data directory location, because it is not compliant to the security concept of the OS (XP, Vista, Win 7) and move the notes.ini (Notes program dir by default).
Doing the latter, you have to adjust registry keys, because for instance mailto: would not work, then.
Depending which component was installed, some additional errors may raise, if a user is only member of users:
Symphony is trying to write to the registry hive HKLM.… a member of users can’t write.
Same for CAI protocol registration.

Hi Christian,Thanks for your quick reply.
It’s a multiuser install done with zenworks CM10 on XP. The base install is done with elevated rights and works fine. The problem starts when a user starts Notes the first time and finishing his/her setup. Well I quess I have to use filemon/regmon to see the files and reg keys involved.
