Have you checked the messaging configuration settings in Administrator? on the MIME tab, Settings by Character set groups tab, there are some settings for fonts of incoming messages. I’ve never tried changing it, but our settings seem to reflect what we see in incoming messages, so it might be worth a look.

I had a few users with a similar problem, they received mail with incredibally large font and users received mail from them in incredibally small font. This was to and from external users only. I re-installed the clients and this seemed to solve it. I had this with 5.0.11

I did some testing with Notes fonts and mail clients receiving html mail:

Using the font

  • Default Monospaced 10

produces too small font in reveiced mail (). I tested with Courier New and System font as default in user preferences. No changes.

  • Default Monospaced 12

Displayes normal in mail program, but is somewhat big in Notes

  • Default Sans 10

Is ok.

The problem arises primarily when creating internet-style responses where Default Monospace is used to create the reply.

For now I use Default Mono 12 in mails sent to external internet recipients.
