I have not been able to get an answer to this question so here goes. We are an Exchange/Outlook shop and we have a new user (secretary of the Commissioner!) that wants to use Lotus Notes standalone. She wants to enter the Commissioner’s calendar into Notes and then print. No e-mailing. No journal. Nothing. Is this even possible? If so, how do you configure the software and bypass the setup for mail? This problem is creating quite a bit of consternation here so if it cannot be accomplished, definitely say so and I can take that to my boss and let him deal with it. Thanks so much for any help you may offer.
Subject: Use and Configuration of Notes Client Standalone
Yes it is technically possible- Notes can be set up for stand-alone operation. During the setup, you de-select the option to connect to a Domino server.
You would then need to to create a local mail file (calendars are stored in the mail database) and set up the Notes client to point to it.
