URL of portal

Hi all,

I'm just wondering why in the URL created there are many character, and what is the meaning of them;

In other words, I'm trying to attempt the course:

https://academy.hcltechsw.com/component/splms/lesson/?id=281

If I copy the link to access the woodburn studio, from the demo pack:

I get:

https://dx.sbx0106.play.hclsofy.com/wps/portal/demo/!ut/p/z1/hY_NboMwEIRfpU_A7mKw6RFVUdX0R2pFEvAFGXAcFGJH1KTK29f9OQVF2dvufLOjAQklSKtOvVG-d1YNYa8kr9kjLYghEa1EjO9vBUsWxRrxmWBzC5BBxiuTI6xBgvw61q2vjXbtTrd73UHlx0n_KB4qjDDlAklgnMQ8Y_eJCKny1uMlSDO45q9DbhuWmXDRLhpCNz91GkqWRUSYzgBnzT9BacQ5sUuidZP14xnKp-JS-vTKB6PIZp7eB8OHNqZ3dw9qUM3Yqxm023dQ_pY_HlaHjPHtq0-bMxtOL3qTfwPMFMhZ/dz/d5/L2dBISEvZ0FBIS9nQSEh/?t=0.05670170242683947&wp_ct_geochecked=true#

All the character after demo in the URL, what are useful for, why there are, is there a way to decode and have a string that can be understood by humans?

thanks so much

Hello Francesco,

please check the detailed explanation to the URL in technote:

How do I decode long Portal URLs

The cryptical characters after the /!ut/ showing up a encryption of the different kind of states of different components on the page. For example in that also portlet-states are saved. To be honest, it does not really make sense to decrypt that, because portlet states are changing very often :-)

I hope that helps,

thanks, Thorsten

It is a choice to keep the URL state or not, as shown here: https://help.hcl-software.com/digital-experience/8.5/config/cw_navstate.html. We decided to keep it in our DX Demo Pack (for the time being).
