Upgrade traveler

Are running Domino 8.5 and traveler 8.5 on windows 2003 server.

Want to upgrade to domino 8.5.1 and traveler 8.5.1.

Should it be ok to just upgrade, first the domino server and then the traveler?

Could this affect the rest of our environment?

Have connections and repl docs to our mail and database server but we only replicate the addressbook.

Subject: Upgrade Traveler

There should be no issues upgrading Traveler - In general we would recommend upgrading Domino first and Traveler second. Upgrading the address book template is useful as well to take advantage of latest features for Domino and Traveler.

Hope this helps.

Subject: policy problem

Worked just fine with the upgrade!Have another problem with traveler policy.

No policy is assigned to the traveler users.

2009-10-15 10:44:27 Problem with signature on policy document /Policyname or one of the policy setting documents it specifies: Document is not signed.

Subject: Upgrade to traveler 8.5.1

I’m planning to upgrade my Domino 8.5 / Traveler 8.5 to Domino 8.5.1 / Traveler 8.5.1 tomorrow.

So far i have upgraded the design of the Domino directory to 8.5.1 after browsing through the Traveler 8.5.1 info here: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/domhelp/v8r0/index.jsp

I also found a note about the index.html: Christian Petters - Berlin, Germany | about.me

If there is anything helpful i can add tomorrow after the upgrade i will post it here

Subject: Result of Traveler upgrade

Ok the Traveler upgrade went well in the end. Had a little problem during the process. I stopped the domino services, installed Domino 8.5.1, installed Traveler 8.5.1 without uninstalling anything first. That didn’t work for me. The Domino server wouldn’t start.

So i uninstalled Traveler 8.5.1, reinstalled the Domino 8.5.1 and started the Domino server. When i saw that it ran without problems i reinstalled Traveler 8.5.1 and everything worked well. (remember to rename the index_template.html to index.html to get the new client options.

On the devices (tested with Nokia E90, E71) I just replaced the old client with the new one, started a sync and everything worked perfectly. The new client reads the settings from the previous client so on the phone the upgrade is very smooth.

I didn’t use the ‘replace data’ option on first sync btw.

Update: We also tested an Iphone. I think other people have noticed this, by default the contacts from Notes local adr. book is imported into the global addressbook on the Iphone. If you have contacts on the Iphone before setting up Traveler sync, you will have double contacts in the global adressbook, but on the Traveler contact list you only see contacts from Notes local addressbook.

Other than that Iphone sync works like a charm plus you can browse the NAB live. Very nice feature

Subject: contacts sync

Which contacts do the iphone sync with if users not have roaming? Then the contacs or on local names.nsf, right?

Subject: Contact sync

Yep, the ones from the local addressbook (after you replicated them to the mailfile).

Subject: yes thanks

Yeah, those databases to. I meant the default databases.

Would be nice if you can post the result.

Subject: Include other system databases

Are you saying you really only replicate the address book? You should also be replicating EVENTS4.NSF, DDM.NSF and ADMIN4.NSF at the very least.-Andy Pedisich
