We are purchasing new server hardware to run Domino6. Our current server is running R5 so I was wondering if anyone knows of the proper upgrade/migration procedure. Thanks!

In addition to reviewing the redbook, I fully recommend that you run fixup, updall AND compact offline on the R5 server BEFORE you upgrade them. There are some replication issues that we ran into because mail files had some invalid documents. When I upgraded our remaining servers doing those steps first, we had not problems.

our product called Migration Pro for 6. You can find information about it and a free demo version copy here.
Its a combination of processes, procedures, checklists, Lotus Notes databases and “best practices” calculated to reduce the time, cost and risk of migrating to Lotus Notes and Domino 6. One of the things that we’re getting a log of customer compliments on is the products ability to test existing applications for compatibility with ND6. There’s a free presentation you can download on application testing here.
If you’ve read the Redbook cover to cover and would like more detailed information on the upgrade process please come check it out.
Hope this helps - and best luck on your upgrade.
