I used the file to upgrade Notes on a laptop without any problem.
I used the same file to upgrade Notes on a desktop and I faced different problems, some of them quite funny:
1 - during the upgrade process, ad file ‘data1.cab’ resulted corrupted, and the install process aborted.
2 - because of the upgrade process, the ‘old’ Notes install has been deleted!
3 - to reinstall Notes 6.5.1 I had to perform a full Uninstall from Windows/Control Panel, as some bit remained in the system blocking the 6.5.1 install.
I downloaded again the file directly from the Lotus website onto the desktop (to exclude copy errors), then tried again the upgrade.
I got again the above problem.
Just to make sure… I make a new download, a new 6.5.1 install (Client + Administrator + Designer), a new upgrade… and it failed again, exactly as per the other 2 attempts.
